Quality Assurance Manager – Wattala

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing quality control checks across various stages of production or service delivery, ensuring consistent quality in products or services.
  • Working closely with production, procurement, and compliance teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all processes and offer technical guidance.
  • Preparing and managing quality documentation, such as quality control plans, manuals, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Investigating product or process quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence.
  • Handling customer complaints, analyzing feedback, and implementing quality improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Manager to ensure alignment between QA and compliance requirements where applicable.
  • Tracking and reporting on key quality metrics, such as defect rates, audit results, and compliance rates, to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identifying skill gaps, arranging training for quality assurance staff, and promoting best practices across the organization.
  • Leading and promoting continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science & technology, Biology, or a related science field (Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage).
  • At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • A diploma in Quality Assurance, familiarity with ISO quality and food safety standards, demonstrated experience in conducting quality audits and upholding rigorous quality standards are advantageous.
  • Proficient in English with strong computer skills.
